The world has been shocked by the terrible news of the earthquake in southeastern Turkey and Syria in February. The earthquakes caused significant damage. Over 52,000 people died, and hundreds of thousands were injured and lost everything. The consternation among employees was and still is enormous, especially among those whose families or friends have been directly affected by the earthquake and its impact. For this reason, some employees initiated donations for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
Several thousand euros for earthquake victims
All employees had the opportunity to donate directly from their wages. The company afterwards rounded up the final amount. In total, 14,000 euros were collected for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria and handed over to “Aktionsbündnis Katastrophenhilfe”.
“When my colleagues approached me with their request, it was immediately clear that we would like to support them. On the one hand, we have a long tradition of loyal employees from the region, and on the other hand, I spent 3.5 years of my life in Turkey.”
